Guidance - be ready
Make sure that drivers are aware of what to expect at every stage of their LeShuttle Freight journey.

Individuals
- A valid passport, and Advanced Passenger Information (API) will be required for all drivers travelling on LeShuttle Freight services between the UK and France. A passport and Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) is required for drivers crossing from France to the UK, who are not British or Irish nationals. Drivers' passports will be scanned at the Pit Stop at the terminals as well as at the border.
- A maximum of 3 persons, including the driver, are allowed per vehicle. Failure to declare all passengers is a breach of conditions and you may be refused travel
- Only children aged 12 years and over are authorised to travel on our freight shuttles
- No livestock, animals or domestic pets are accepted for carriage on our freight shuttles

This handy guide provides step-by-step information for drivers using our service, from check-in to arrival, ensuring a quick and stress-free crossing. Keep it on hand before you travel so you and your drivers have everything you need in one place.

Vehicles
Ensure you are aware of the size, weight and dimensions of vehicles accepted for travel on LeShuttle Freight, and our regulations on fuel types and power sources. If you are travelling in a commercial van, you will be using our VanPro service. Drivers must read the safety and security rules, including important information relating to dangerous goods and the carriage of firearms.

- Drive to Check-in and use the touchscreen to register arrival
- Drive to the Pit Stop where your documents and number plate are scanned
- Head to Border Controls for checks
- Next, drive to Vehicle Allocation where you’ll be informed of the next departure and which freight shuttle you will be boarding. Trains depart every 10 minutes at peak times.
- Board easily by driving onto the wagon and wait for the minibus to the Club Car
- Take your seat comfortably on the Club Car
- Arrive in only 35 minutes and complete your onward journey
LeShuttle Freight Club
By joining the LeShuttle Freight Club (formerly Drivers’ Club), drivers get reward points every time they travel with us, which can be saved and spent on some fantastic products. It’s free to join our loyalty programme, and drivers can earn points for up to 12 crossings per month.
Simply remember to scan the barcode printed on your ticket within five days of your crossing. There’s bonus points available too for multiple crossings!
Driver Info WebApp
Stay up to date with the very latest updates about your journey, useful messages about departure and arrival times, safety instructions and customs information. The Driver Info WebApp is where you’ll be able to find out about any service disruptions, and we’ll also be in touch with the latest LeShuttle Freight news. The WebApp is easy to install. Once you’ve entered your registration number, customised service information will be displayed for every step of your journey.
Safety and security
The safety and security of drivers and passengers is our main priority at LeShuttle Freight. Our safety and security controls and customs checks provide the highest level of protection for customers. Make sure your drivers are aware of the safety rules before travelling, including dangerous goods regulations and the size and weight restrictions for vehicles boarding our shuttles.
Truck park
Our Truck Park in Calais offers a safe and secure place to park while waiting to board or before continuing on the road. The Truck Park is located next to the terminal building, with toilets, showers and free Wi-Fi. There are 146 parking spaces, and the first hour of parking is free.
Duty Free
Drivers using LeShuttle Freight can buy Duty Free goods if they are travelling from Calais to Folkestone. The Calais terminal has a Duty Free facility, offering a selection of items including wines, spirits, electrical products, perfumes and gifts. Check the Duty Free allowances for drivers entering the UK.
