Frequently asked questions
Is LeShuttle Freight and LeShuttle the same?
No, LeShuttle Freight is a different service to our passenger operation – LeShuttle. The great advantage of this for LeShuttle Freight customers is that you receive a specialist freight service from us, with shuttles that are designed for commercial haulage vehicles, staff trained to work with commercial freight and a dedicated freight infrastructure.
How does LeShuttle Freight maintain reliability during busy periods or disruptions?
LeShuttle Freight has an advantage over conventional ferry services because we are largely unaffected by weather conditions. Our flexible shuttle loading system means we can prioritise critical shipments even during peak travel times. Additionally, we maintain contingency plans for various scenarios and offer real-time updates to ensure you always know the status of your critical freight.
Is using LeShuttle Freight quicker than a ferry?
Yes. The ferry crossing from Dover to Calais takes at least 90 minutes, whereas using the Channel Tunnel with LeShuttle Freight is only a 35-minute crossing. Becoming a FIRST customer brings even greater benefits, with priority boarding on the next available shuttle and a dedicated priority desk at the Centre Douane SIVEP, if your vehicle requires an inspection.
